Website accessibility

As part of the "Access to Service" Regulations (Equal Rights for People with Disabilities Regulations, 2013), organizations and companies are required to ensure that their website is accessible to the blind and reading impaired, in accordance with Regulation 35 of the Regulations.

What is website accessibility?

According to the accessibility regulations, an accessible site is one that has been adjusted in line with Israeli Standard 5568. The Israeli Standard adopts the international guidelines for internet accessibility – the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines of the organization W3C, to enable people with various disabilities such as blindness, visual impairment, physical disabilities that prevent the use of the hands, cognitive impairment like dyslexia and ADD, hearing impairment and more, to effectively use the services and information in websites.
Comprehensive information on the subject is available on the Ministry of Justice website. Click here to go to the Ministry of Justice website.

The Library does not provide a service to make websites accessible.
