  1. How should I enter the new catalog?
    Answer: Type the subscriber's user number (9 digit ID number) and password (secure password created by the subscriber on completion of registration) in the appropriate login boxes. Click to return.
  2. I tried to enter the new catalog with my user name and my password from the old catalog. Why did it fail? 
    Answer: The User Name remains the subscriber's ID number. But the new catalog requires the Secure Password that each subscriber creates on completion of registration for the new catalog. If you have not yet registered for the new catalog, please go to the following link to do so: Registration Page. On completion you will receive an email with a link to create your Secure Password.   3. My identity card number is less than 9 digits. What should I do?
    Answer: Add 0s before the number to create a 9 digit number.  Click to return.

    Answer: Click on the link 'forgotten my password' and then check your email. Click to return.
 
 
  1. I have been a registered subscriber for many years. Do I have to re-register for the new catalog?
    Answer: Yes, in order to use the new catalog for the first time you must re-register. Note that all subscribers to the Library must have an email address. Click here to go to the Registration Page. Click to return.
  2. I am not a subscriber but I wish to be. Can anyone subscribe to the Library?
    Answer: No, the Library only serves blind and visually impaired people who present the relevant authorizations (details on the website). Only people with the valid required authorizations can become Library subscribers. Click here for details of required authorizations. Click to return..
  3. How can I know whether I am entitled to receive the Library’s services and become a subscriber?
    Answer: People entitled to receive Library services are: blind, visually impaired, people with learning disabilities (e.g. dyslexia), senior citizens and people who are print disabled for other reasons (e.g. ALS). Click here for details of required authorizations. Click to return..
  4. I have registered for the new catalog but have not received any confirmation.
    Answer: If you did not receive an email from the website (from info@clfb.org.il), check whether the message went into your junk mail ('spam'). Click to return.
  5. I tried to register for the catalog but I received a message that my subscription is inactive and I was unable to continue. Why? 
    Answer: If you received a message that you are inactive and your registration is blocked, it means that in the past you might have asked to freeze or cancel your subscription. Contact the Library on telephone 09-8617874 extension 0. Click to return.
  6. Is there a subscription charge?
    Answer: The Library asks subscribers to pay a yearly subscription of NIS 100, to cover materials that are not returned to the Library such as compilations from the press in recorded and Braille formats, the calendar and Passover Haggadah, special compilations that are produced for holidays, textbooks and more. We would point out that the subscription is voluntary, and is used to help us provide Library services. We appreciate your cooperation. Click to return.
  7. Can I pay online by credit card?

  1. How can I order titles from the Library?
    Answer: Library subscribers can order books in a number of ways, 24/7. Click here to go to ‘More Reading’ and for more details. Click to return.
  2. How can I order from the online catalog?
    Answer: A few key steps: If you know what you want to order, or have a direction, go to the Search Bar and do a simple search by typing at least two letters in the Search Box. Or go to 'Advanced Search' and click ENTER. This takes you to categorized search results. Choose from the 4 different Action Buttons: ‘Listen’, ‘Download’, ‘Add to Basket’ (for a personal postal delivery) or ‘Remember This’ to add the title to a saved title list for future use. If you added a title to your basket (for postal delivery), proceed to ‘My Basket’ to complete the process. At the same time you can surf the Library catalog and browse the list of New Titles that is updated daily, the list of subscribers’ most Popular Titles, and more. When you click on one of the titles on the list it will take you directly to that book’s page that displays the 4 Action Buttons.   3. I wish to download a title. How can I do this?
    Answer: Click the Download button on the Search Results page/ the Book Title page/ the Listen to Title  page/ List of Saved Titles. Click to return.
  4. I opted to read a book in 'download format' but nothing happened. What should I do?
    Answer: Before using the site we recommend you define your ‘blocked notifications’ in your browser (Explorer): Open Browser > Go to Tools > Internet Options > Privacy-Popup Blocker (marked by default) > You can deselect or add the Library address clfb.org.il as an authorized site. You can also adjust the level of the filter blockage in the Dropdown list to Low (allow pop-ups from authorized sites). Click to return.
  5. Is there a limit to how many items I can download or listen to?
    Answer: There is no limit to the number of titles you can listen to directly. You can order as many books as you wish, and listen to all of them via the Direct Listening page. There is however a limit to the number of books you can download – a maximum of 3 titles in 24 hours, and not more than 10 books in 15 days. Click to return.
  6. What is special about the Library website player?
    Answer: The new Library catalog has an accessible player for easy listening to titles. The site enables navigation around the title, skipping, speed adjustment, a bookmark to save your place and more. Note: to control the play/pause button from almost anywhere in the player, click Ctrl+Enter. In addition we recommend the use of the internet Explorer browser player. Click to return.
  7. I wish to avoid making a repeat order. Is there a way to know that I have already ordered a certain book?
    Answer: Absolutely. Accessible graphics in the online catalog indicate: ‘previously ordered’ where relevant. In addition, ‘My Basket’ provides a list of all the titles you have ordered in the past. Click to return.
  8. In which formats can I order a title?
    Answer: The Library has accessible titles in three formats: Recorded in Mp3 (available for direct listening, downloading or to order on CD), Braille and Large Print. However, some titles may not be available in all three formats. Click to return.
  9. How can I find out which new titles the Library has produced?
    Answer: On the catalog Home Page, in the section ‘New Books’ (title level 2), there is a list of the titles that were published the previous day. If you wish to receive updates of new books and compilations published in the last 24 hours, you can receive an emailed list according to your content preferences – genre, format and language.   10. How can I find out which are the most popular titles with subscribers?
    Answer: On the catalog Home Page, in the section ‘Popular’ (title level 2) there is a list of the most requested titles by subscribers, as of the previous day. Click to return.
  11. What is the quickest way to listen to compilations?
    Answer: Go to the catalog Home Page. Go to ‘Compilations’ (title level 2). The list shows the last ten compilations that were uploaded, which you can either listen to directly or download. Click to return.
  12. I ordered books to be delivered via the postal system but they have not arrived. What should I do?
    Answer: The most likely reasons are unexpected delay in the Post Office courier service or that the subscriber has accumulated too many titles at home.  There is a limit of 12 books (excluding textbooks), so we recommend you check on the page ‘My Borrowings’, in the list of unreturned books, how many returns are outstanding.
