Who is entitled to register for the Library?
Who is entitled to register for the Library?
The Library operates under the Law of Accessibility for People with Disabilities and is therefore not open to the general public. In order to subscribe to the Library, the applicant must have a disability, as defined by the Equal Rights for People with Disabilities Law of 1998, with emphasis on visual or reading impairment.
For purposes of registration, official confirmation by a qualified professional
such as a doctor or social worker must be submitted.

Authorized individuals include:
Blind and visually impaired people
who have difficulty reading even with the use of spectacles, for example due to age related macular degeneration
People with cognitive disabilities
such as dyslexia, learning disabilities, SLI (specific language impairment), ADHD and ADD.
People with a physical disabilit
y that prevents them from holding a printed book, such as ALS, Parkinson’s Disease and so on.

List of required authorizations:
Blind and visually impaired people – copy of certificate of blindness or doctor’s letter confirming inability to read due to visual or other impairment.
Learning impairment – you must present your most recent assessment that indicates your reading impairment or In addition you can submit your authorization from your local Educational Psychological Service.
The elderly – readers over the age of 75 are requested to provide their identification card and official confirmation of difficulty in reading.
People with other disabilities that make it difficult or prevent them from reading print are asked to provide the Library registration department with medical confirmation of the difficulty.
