Round Down Benefit (Igool Letova) turns your spare shekels into an economic force, giving your small gesture considerable social impact. It lets you donate small amounts directly via your payslip, automatically, efficiently and with no fuss. Round Down Benefit will round your salary down to the nearest 5, 10 or 20 shekels, and donate the difference to the Library:
For example, on a net salary of NIS 8,436.70:
- Round down to the nearest 5 shekels: the salary will be rounded down to NIS 8,435 with an NIS 1.7 donation
- Round down to nearest 10 shekels: the salary will be rounded down to NIS 8,430 with an NIS 6.7 donation
- Round down to nearest 20 shekels: the salary will be rounded down to 8,420 with an NIS 16.7 donation
For extra impact, employers can elect to donate a matching sum to The Central Library for the Blind to boost the effect the donation.
Currently the model for rounding salaries down can be used by companies that work with the payroll management companies HILAN, Hergel and Malam.
Dozens of companies in Israel already allow employees to round down their salaries to donate through Round Down Benefit.
