ABOUT US


ORGANIZATION AND SETUP:

The Library operates according to the laws pertaining to non-profit organizations.

In accordance with the law, an Annual General Meeting is held each year. At the meeting reports are given on the Library's activities during the year, the accountant presents the annual balance-sheet, the audit committee provides a detailed report, and the management and audit committees are appointed.

The protocol of the Annual General Meeting and additional documents are submitted for the approval of the Registrar of Non-Profit Organizations who then confirms the proper management of the non-profit organization with a Certificate of Proper Management.

The Library's mission, a definition of its target population and the authority of the management and audit committee are detailed in the Library Memorandum.

The Library employs 31 salaried workers, 100 freelance workers including narrators and word processor operators (for copying books into Braille) and approximately 10 volunteers.
