Braille Software Enhanced
The Library has software that enables the conversion of WORD files
into Braille. The software has been developed jointly with Duxbury Systems
Company of Boston, a company specializing in the developing software
conversions into Braille.
The previous software we used did not allow conversion of books combining
Hebrew and Arabic – much needed by Arabic speaking students who are
learning Hebrew, and Hebrew speaking students learning Arabic. In the
last few months we have also - together with Duxbury Systems - incorporated
these changes in the software. Thus we are able to supply in Braille
editions of books such as Alarabia by Avni Ruhama for a ninth grade
student, studying Arabic. We hope to finish copying the book within the next
few days.
We have recently finished editing the second half of the book Hitler:
1936-1945 Nemesis by Ian Kershaw. The book comprises of 10 CDs and is
narrated by Einat Baranowsky.
A new Book – Hitler by Ian Kershaw
Many readers who have read part one of the book: Hitler – Hubris 1889-1936
and have been patiently awaiting the recording of its second part, as
well as readers interested in this period will be pleased to know that
that the book is now available in Telesefer as well as on the internet
catalogue.
• We would like to remind the readership that the Library in Tel Aviv
will be closed during Hol Hamoed Sukkoth.
• The Library in Natanya will be operated by staff between 0800 and
1300 and readers will be able borrow books on the premises.
