CENTRAL LIBRARY FOR THE BLIND VISUALLY IMPAIRED & HANDICAPPED

BOOKS

RECORDED BOOKS:

Every day in the Library's recording studios in Tel-Aviv, tens of narrators industriously record quality literature, reference books, textbooks, magazines and newspapers. Expert sound technicians edit the recorded texts onto cassettes and compact disks.

Books on Recorded Cassettes

The Library has systems which enable books to be duplicated onto cassettes. The books are distributed in special containers that are convenient for transport and for the reader to use.

Digital Books

For quality and technology, the digital book is the most advanced format. MP3 technology allows a whole book to be recorded onto one CD.
Advantages for the reader are: the quality of digital recording, the ability to access a section, chapter, sub-chapter, page or note (all depending on how the material is edited) and the convenience of handling CDs.
